A Health Worker Shortage
The countries of sub-Saharan Africa handle 24 percent of the world’s disease burden with only 3 percent of the global health workforce. And by 2030, Africa’s health worker shortage is expected to exceed six million.
Despite the crucial role health workers play in saving lives, less than 7 percent of global health funding has been invested in the health workforce since 2010.
At Seed Global Health, we’re working to change this.
WHAT WE DO
Invest In Health Workers
We educate and train doctors, nurses, and midwives to deliver high-quality health services and save lives. We do this by partnering closely with ministries of health, health professional schools, hospitals, and clinics. We also advocate globally and nationally to create policies that support health workers to provide high-quality care.

Our Work
We focus on health workers because people are the leading levers of change in a health system.
We build the capacity of doctors, nurses, and midwives so that they can address the diverse and specific health needs of their communities and serve as agents of change. We focus on:

We enable access to high-quality emergency care and maternal, newborn, and child health services that improve the well-being of those who seek them. We focus on:

We train family physicians and midwives who can provide comprehensive, continuous, high-quality care in urban and rural communities to people at all stages of life. We focus on:
