THE CHALLENGE
The countries of sub-Saharan Africa shoulder 24 percent of the world’s disease burden with only 3 percent of the global health workforce. And by 2030, Africa’s health worker shortage is expected to exceed six million.
Despite the crucial role health workers play in saving lives, less than 7 percent of global health funding has been invested in the health workforce since 2010.
At Seed Global Health, we’re working to change this.
WHAT WE DO
We educate and train doctors, nurses, and midwives to deliver high-quality health services and save lives. We do this by partnering closely with ministries of health, health professional schools, hospitals, and clinics. We also advocate globally and nationally to create policies that support health workers to provide high-quality care.
