This year the Global Health Service Partnership will be placing a record number of Volunteers. Over 70 physicians, nurses, and midwives will be deployed as visiting faculty to five different countries, more than doubling the number of volunteers placed in 2015.
As the number of GHSP Educators has increased, so has the number of our partner institutions. This year GHSP will be expanding to two new countries, Liberia and Swaziland, where GHSP Faculty will be deployed across five medical and nursing institutions. The program will also expand to two new sites in Malawi. With the addition of these institutions, faculty will be placed at 21different sites, a 50 percent increase since 2015.
The increased number of GHSP Educators and the expansion to new sites will broaden the impact of the program, strengthen medical and nursing education, build the number of qualified health professionals and ultimately, expand access to quality health care for communities across Africa.
